Karl grew up around poultry farming, with his family operating a poultry integrator, which sparked an interest in both medicine and farm animals.
In 2021, he graduated with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. Alongside his studies, he volunteered as an EMT with the Red Cross in Lebanon.
To combine his agricultural background with his passion for veterinary medicine, Karl transferred to the University of Edinburgh to continue his studies to become a veterinary surgeon, while continuing to have a strong interest in poultry medicine.
Aside from his family’s farm, Karl has gained a variety of hands-on experiences, from completing an EMS placement with St David’s vets Matt and Emily in Scotland to spending some time with Aviagen in Alabama, USA.
Karl looks forward to building long-lasting client relationships with St David’s Poultry Team clients, supporting flock health and broadening his experience with game birds.
