Created by vets from St David’s Poultry Team – the largest independent commercial poultry practice in the UK and Ireland – join vet Ben South for our associated company, The Chicken Vet upcoming online CPD courses.
The course will give you a thorough overview of the common conditions you can expect to see in poultry, how to make a diagnosis and what treatment options there are. The course is also open to veterinary nurses – with a 25% discount on the cost and attending the post-mortem session is optional.
Although the course content is tailored to the UK, for example, the legislation and products we might reference, the veterinary information will be relevant wherever you are in the world and we welcome vets who are not based in the UK to join.
The Chicken Vet CPD course covers:
• History of the chicken
• Husbandry – needs, housing, management and hygiene
• Legislation and Law
• Behaviour and anatomy
• Post-mortem examination
• Blood sampling techniques
• ‘The clinical approach to…’ a discussion of the clinical presentations most commonly seen in practice
• Therapeutics and preventive medicines
Once you’ve completed the course, your practice can join the Chicken Vet Associated Practice scheme.
