Sales Ledger Finance Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated Finance Administrator ideally with experience with Sales Ledger and credit control within our small (but busy!) finance team, at our head office, on the outskirts of Exeter.

We are a leading poultry and game veterinary practice with national coverage across the United Kingdom and Ireland, offering a complete veterinary service to commercial egg laying companies, the broiler industry, broiler breeder companies and hatcheries. We also cater for the game bird industry, providing veterinary care for pheasants, partridge and grouse in rear and release. Our team of veterinary surgeons consists of 22 vets who are supported by a team of office, dispensary and laboratory staff. Whilst our head office is based near Exeter, Devon, we have a network of fourteen practice bases, allowing us to provide a local and responsive service to our clients.

What you’ll be doing:

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be responsible for entering sales ledger invoices on to Sage 200 and allocating of customer receipts, as well as reviewing customer account limits and progressing for review. You will also be dealing with finance-related enquiries from our teams internally, customers and assist with the relevant banking.

The team are currently moving from a paper-based invoicing and statement system, to digital, however in the short term, you’ll be involved with the printing and posting of these.

You’ll also provide support to the team when it comes year end, for our different companies.

About you:

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role as well as Sage 200 (although this isn’t a ‘must-have’) as there will of course be training and support when it comes to our systems and processes.

As this is a varied role, you’ll very much be someone who enjoys juggling priorities, is highly organised and is happy to support other members of the team, when it’s busy.
