Marketing Executive

If you have marketing experience and are looking to join our friendly team as our new Marketing Executive, to support and drive activities as the business continues to grow. It’s an exciting time to join us!

If you’re someone that’s proactive, is keen to learn about the veterinary industry/poultry medicine and you want to join an ambitious organisation that will fully support you and your development – we’d love to hear from you.

The marketing team is based at our head office, which is on the Nutwell Estate near Lympstone, on the outskirts of Exeter – about a 10-minute drive from the M5. You’ll be working closely with the Marketing Manager and Commercial Director, who will provide you with comprehensive training and ongoing support.

Whilst most of the teams’ focus is on supporting the commercial poultry side of the business, there are other associated/complementary businesses that the team work with. Therefore, you’ll get the opportunity to learn about and support a wide range of different businesses, with different audiences and marketing needs. This includes, for example, The Chicken Vet that provides online advice, guidance and products to poultry pet owners, and poultry health training to other vets.

What you’ll be doing

It’s a varied role that’s going to suit someone who thrives on contributing to and managing, a broad range of marketing projects. This will include:

  • Copy writing for different audiences and channels, including print and digital for example articles, newsletters, information for internal audiences, training materials, adverts etc.
  • Developing/producing general marketing collateral that supports marketing activity – this will include print (for example leaflets, brochures), material for events such as banner stands, client newsletters and other email campaigns
  • Event management – working with the marketing and veterinary team to scope out and deliver a calendar of St David’s own/industry events that we have a presence at, and be happy to attend and provide support at these across the UK and Ireland
  • Website (predominantly WordPress) and eCommerce site management e.g. updating content, products etc as required
  • Having input to the overall marketing strategy and plan, and taking ownership of key aspects of it
  • Some social media management – developing content/posts and monitoring activity – predominantly for Facebook and LinkedIn

Whilst the Marketing Executive will have responsibility for some core activities to support business priorities, there’s scope for you to evolve this role as your skills and understanding evolve too.

About you

You’ll be a self-starter with the drive to make things happen and deliver results, and you’ll be confident and happy to work with people from around the business, and marketing colleagues, to do this. We’re a team that encourages new ideas and ways of doing things for the better, therefore if you’re someone who can spot these opportunities and run with them, that would be fantastic.

Some general marketing experience is essential, and as developing content is a fundamental part of the role, experience of writing different types of content for different audiences, editing and proofreading is essential too.  You don’t need to have previous experience in the veterinary or poultry industry, however you’ll need to be keen to learn and have the ability to research and gather information from a range of sources.  As you’ll be juggling priorities and workload, you’ll also need to be highly organised.

Fundamentally, if you’re interested in finding out more about who we are, what we do and the marketing role, we’d like to find out more about you.

What we offer:

  • Enhanced annual leave. 25 days + bank holidays + birthday leave
  • Quarterly company bonus scheme
  • Private healthcare with Vitality
  • Employee Assistance Programme with Health Assured
  • Career development opportunities
  • Funded external training where applicable
  • Team social events
  • Dog-friendly office
  • And more…

More about St David’s Poultry Team
