Lucian is part of our Western regional team, based at our practice in Wem.

Lucian says:

“My first degree and early career focussed on horticulture and landscaping however with the onset of the financial crisis in 2008, I decided to follow my real passion – veterinary medicine – and joined the Veterinary School at USAMV Cluj-Napoca, in Romania.

After graduating, I worked in a mixed practice, before relocating to the UK to work for the Food Standards Agency. I qualified as an Official Veterinarian (OV) through the University of Glasgow in 2016 – a qualification that APHA require private practice vets to hold to be able to do work on behalf of the UK Government – and continued to have various roles in food safety.

My roles in food safety meant that I’d already developed a significant expertise of the poultry industry – an industry that is recognised for its innovation, which very much aligns with my approach to animal health – before I joined the sector and subsequently the St David’s team.

Within the poultry medicine, my particular interest is working with broiler and layer clients. A focus for me currently is to work with clients and their teams to look at alternative, innovative ways to produce quality meat and eggs, whilst enhancing animal health and welfare, wherever possible.”
