After graduating from veterinary school in 2008, Callum worked in a variety of different roles outside of the veterinary field before starting work as a veterinary inspector with the Ministry of Resources and Rural Affairs in Malta. He was responsible for inspections on pig and poultry farms, controls in a rabbit slaughterhouse as well as working on other projects including disposal of animal by-products and was the chairman of the Enzootic Bovine Leukosis Disease Eradication Programme and compensation committees.
After leaving Malta, Callum moved to Ireland and spent two seasons working in corporate governance for a proxy advisory company before working with a pet care financing startup advising on small animal health.
Callum has attended courses on animal welfare at the time of killing in disease control situations and has overseen the culling of numerous poultry farms.
Callum joined St David’s Poultry Team in January 2020.
In his spare time, he enjoys walking his pet Yorkshire Terrier named Vladimir and plane spotting.
