Aimee says:
“I developed a keen interest in poultry from a young age, as my parents and grandparents had a strong interest too. I was particularly keen on the selective breeding and rearing side, and hatching quails, ducks and rare breed bantams and chickens.
I was initially drawn to the equestrian sector early in my career, but soon found that this didn’t give me enough physical input and management. A local, independent, commercial barn egg laying farm was looking for someone to join them – which I was lucky enough to do – which is where my knowledge and passion for the industry could develop.
As my poultry career has progressed, I’ve worked in research and development at Aviagen Turkeys –getting to work with some of the most experienced poultry scientists. My most recent role was at a large multi age, ten shed broiler farm with a 500,000 capacity. I completed the Poultec Level 3 NVQ during that time however the highlight was winning the NFU-Zoetis Poultry Trainee Award, in 2022.”
Aimee works with a clients in the Wales and West of England area, and is passionate about continuing to drive improvements in flock management, by supporting the local veterinary team to deliver the right support, at the right time.
