Richard Turner and Alan Beynon are the Partners responsible for setting up the Poultry Team. They are now joined by Mike Alcorn in Ireland and Barry Thorp in Scotland. Together they have an exceptional range of expertise in commercial poultry health, disease and welfare. Alan also has extensive Pigeon and Gamebird knowledge. Richard works with all species, and also has consultancies across Europe. Alan works with both layers and broilers, and during the Game Season is the main vet involved with Gamebird disease and management. Mike and Barry both provide local and international consultancy. Mike is particularly focused on broiler breeder and broiler management and disease. Barry is our academic, research and specialist disease investigation resource through "St David's Poultry Team at the Dick Vet". Where we also assist in teaching the veterinary students. We offer an extensive and bespoke range of veterinary services, with farm visits playing an important role in planning preventative policies. There is a fully stocked pharmacy at the surgery, and due to the size of the business, we are able to offer competitive prices to our clients. |
| | The Practice offers a wide range of laboratory backup, and prices for services can be obtained by contacting the team either using the contact form or by telephoning. The vets are members of the British Poultry Veterinary Association, as well as acting as experts to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, and Richard, Mike and Barry attend the European Poultry Study Group.
