Two vet positions based in Yorkshire

We are currently recruiting for two veterinary positions based from our Northallerton, Yorkshire branch.
If you already have experience in poultry medicine or if you are a mixed practice vet looking for a new challenge, with no TB testing or weekday night duties involved, then we would love to hear from you.
In addition to our full-time role, we also have a unique opportunity for a colleague to work with us for 8 months of the year. This position would predominantly be within our game bird team working from April to November. The salary would reflect this but would be paid over a 12 month period.
The ideal candidates must be strong and confident communicators with a commitment to learning. An interest in poultry and game bird medicine is essential, although no previous experience is required. Two poultry internships currently available. One of the internships will be based from our Northern Ireland practice.
St David’s Poultry team are offering post graduate internships for new graduates or recently graduated vets. This unique opportunity will allow you to fully experience this multi-faceted industry whilst being supported and mentored by our experienced team of Poultry Vets.
About the Internship
The internship will be 6 months in duration and your primary base will be at the head office in Lympstone, near Exeter. During your time with us you will receive formal tutorials and practical on farm training in all aspects of Poultry Veterinary medicine.
Tutorials are on a weekly basis and our aim is to formally cover a large range of poultry and game bird topics. This is then backed up by practical on farm visits. Time will be spent at all of our 13 poultry bases across the UK and Ireland. This will allow you to fully experience all aspects of our business and be tutored by some of the leading poultry professionals.

Seasonal Warehouse Personnel
We are currently looking for a new colleague to join our busy Veterinary team, based at premises on Nutwell Estate, near Exmouth. As part of the role you will be helping ensure the efficient running of the dispensary with particular regard to taking medication orders, dealing directly with clients, dispatching of medication, as well as general maintenance of all stock. The ideal candidate must have excellent customer service and administration skills, with the ability to work well within a team and under pressure. Forklift training and experience of working in the veterinary field would be ideal, but is not essential as full training will be given.
To ensure efficient running of the Dispensary with particular regard to dispatch of medication and vaccine and general maintenance of stock.
The main responsibilities and objectives are:
- Maintaining the dispensary to the highest possible standards of tidiness and cleanliness
- Keeping store rooms clean and tidy and efficiently organised
- Ensuring all orders are dispatched before courier deadlines and they are all fully compliant to transport regulations and each parcel contains all the necessary paperwork
- Maintaining the stock to ensure full compliance to stock rotation and storage demands
- Making sure stock is replenished, ensuring office is aware when stock needs to be ordered
- Completing prescriptions
- Unpacking and checking medication and vaccine deliveries
- Confirming all goods received
- Placing all medication and vaccines onto appropriate shelves and into fridges
- Checking all batch numbers and expiry dates
- Consignment tracking and customer liaison
- Ensuring all goods are correctly labelled and have all necessary paperwork
- Assisting with annual and other stock takes
- Preparation of laboratory testing kits
- Packing medication and vaccines appropriately for transit.
- Answering overflow phones if office staff are on other calls
